Enjoy Golfing today!

Mojo Monday 392

Love the sketch this week at  Mojo Monday 392! I'm taking a short break from flowers this week (or just today) for a more masculine card. (Not that women don't enjoy golf) but this is for my husband's friend/golfing partner's birthday. And yes, he does enjoy golf very much. The golf card and bag are from memory box, and the sentiment is from Verve's "Small Packages" set vs-0224.

Christmas Thank You

For the last Ways To Use It Challenge for 2013 over at Splitcoaststampers the hostess asked us to dig that beautiful wrapping paper out of the trash, and use some of it on our card or project! I did just that. It's amazing how terrific some -not so spectacular-
wrapping paper can look in smaller doses.
The first two were made with fragile wrapping paper.
The last two were made with the tags that came with the gifts.
Each card is going to the giver of each wrapped or tagged gift.

Used memory box bow die for the Spellbinders classic small rectangles

The raffia was a part of the jar of homemade eggnog with the kraft tag and branch
All were repurposed for the Thank You note.

The cute snowman was a tag on the matching bag.

Celebrate with a Bouquet

Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World

My approach to an inspiration photo is probably too literal. I really love making flowers and the ones on the fine tooth comb were too beautiful to resist.
I used a number of different punches and a stamp and die cut set.
Please see ingredients under the close up.

Tuesday Trigger: Fine Tooth Comb

Card Ingredients: two Marvy daisy punches, Sizzix/Hero Arts stamp & die-cut floral #657776, Sizzix 3-D rose die, Elizabeth curvy leaves, memory box flourish die, Martha Stewart hydrangea punch (small) and two strips of card stock cut 1/4" by 5" snipped and quilled for two flower centers. Clear embossing powder and heat gun for one flower.

Give Thanks

It seems there's something extra special about this time of year. The kids are back to school, the weather (for some) has a fresh feel, the pumpkins are making their way for fall and weddings. September was my wed month. The Inspiration Challenge site at Splitcoaststampers is William Sonoma which is loaded with beautiful things. I used two Hero Arts background stamps that I thought captured the elegance of my inspirations.

POPPIES!

For the Inspiration Challenge at SCS the website featured is Wedding Decor

I chose two frames as inspiration for my card:Geometric Lattice and the Cala Lily Photo Frame

We traveled to Italy this time last year and the Poppies where blooming all along the highways and hill towns. Just a carpet of red in the field and farm land. I substituted the Lilies of course, but I love the placement on the frame.

I used the Taylored Expressions Quatgrefoil cutting plate to place in the square opening that was cut with Spellbinders classic square. The card measures 5”x5”.  Also, I used memory box's  “Prim Poppy" die and mb's wood mount sentiment stamp.

8th Anniversary Celebration!

SplitcoastStampers is celebrating EIGHT years of the Ways To Use It Challenge

We are to use some things that relate to an eight year anniversary.
Flower - Lilac
Gemstone - Tanzania (light purple or blue color stone)
Traditional gifts - bronze or pottery
Modern gifts - linen or lace
The challenge is to make a card in the color purple family

I just purchased the Norrland flower die by memory box. I absolutely love making flowers and the Norrland flower (I think) is lilac in color. I love the flowers on the creamy background to highlight the details. Happy Anniversary or Birthday!

Orchids

What a romantic site!
I was inspired by two orchid plants from An Angel at My Table websit for the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.

I used a Marvy pansy punch to make the orchids by trimming the punched pieces to look more like the orchid petals. I also used the memory box tulip petals dies for the centers of the orchids. All parts were punched out of shimmer white card stock and painted with “twinkling H2O’s Pink Azalea” and LuminArte Black Cherry and Sunflower for the center portions. Several styluses were used and a QuicKutz cookie cutter Vine die.

This card is also for the
Mixed Media Challenge at SCS - MIX2 It's Not Hard To Resist
Embossing Resist technique

I first stamped the damask background onto white card stock and heat embossed with white powder. I then stamped the script and sponged the entire panel with Canary and Pink inks from pads.

center is the punched piece cut to look similar to orchid petals
bottom are the memory box Tulip Petals used for center
