Simply Mother's Day

For the Clean and Simple Challenge at SCS the hostess presented the colors of turquoise, green and pink. I, do, love stamping and fussy cutting vellum. It'se a fresh and light approach to this CAS card.
I adore the subtle turquoise dots in the vellum under skirt.
Distress ink shabby shutters adds to the softness.
Mother's Day cards are not just for my mother but
for all the women in my immediate family so I'd better get started!

Happy Gingham Easter

WT420
For the Ways to Use it Challenge at
Splitcoaststampers today our challenge hostess asked for a little gingham in our project.

Well, this designer paper from an Martha Stewart's 2008 "Playful Blue and Green Paper Pad" was perfect! I love all kinds of green so going green was easy. The lace border is Sizzlits, the vellum flowers heat embossed in white and fussy cut are from the Artful Stamper and the sentiment stamped in Vivid Olive  is from Great Impressions.

Ombre Hello

The challenge this week at SCS is to create something that has light to dark colors.....this technique is also called Ombre which is defined as "graduated colors from light to dark on a surface". Starting with the lightest shade of a color (any color), use light, medium, and dark shades of the same color to create a background or main image.

I'm finding this particular quilt pattern intriguing these days. First of all it's easier than most and you get some wonderful movement with colors. I found instructions on Nancy Riley's blog. Now I can't stop making the squares. I think it works so well with the graduating colors in purple (or any) colors. The daisies are a favorite of mine to make. Big impact with not much fuss. I used Martha Stewarts daisy punch and a Punch Bunch small sun punch. Each daisy has four layers plus one in green. The Verve small "hello" sentiment fits nicely in the one inch square.

8th Anniversary Celebration!

SplitcoastStampers is celebrating EIGHT years of the Ways To Use It Challenge

We are to use some things that relate to an eight year anniversary.
Flower - Lilac
Gemstone - Tanzania (light purple or blue color stone)
Traditional gifts - bronze or pottery
Modern gifts - linen or lace
The challenge is to make a card in the color purple family

I just purchased the Norrland flower die by memory box. I absolutely love making flowers and the Norrland flower (I think) is lilac in color. I love the flowers on the creamy background to highlight the details. Happy Anniversary or Birthday!

For that special Guy

Valentine's cards for "Him"

Hero Arts Shadow Ink "Cup O' Joe" was used for the
Hearts from HA-CLR-CL582 stamp set
and the dots from HA-CLR-CL342 Everyday sayings.
All hearts were fussy cut and the small hearts popped up.
Border is sponged with DI Walnut stain.

Well, my V-Day card looks like a circus. Oh well.
My husband always gives me the funniest cards!

Roses are Red...

Roses are red and pink and violet and blue! Flowers are nice but chocolate is too!

Have a heart - created something for family, friends and sweethearts
this Valentine's Day

Hello everyone! I am nearly finished my prototypes for a Valentine’s Craft Class, however I need to make cards and projects that are suitable to post! My challenge is to create cards that can be die cut in advanced and  easy to assemble and mailed, if necessary. With the cards that will be created the size is roughly 4.25” square.

The flower is made with two different Sizzix Bigz dies and the sentiment is Hero Arts.
The button is made by slicing a wine cork and using a crop-o-dile to punch the holes.
The Spellbinders Scalloped and Classic Hearts are my favorite dies.

The top flower layer is die cut from an old school book.
My inspiration is by this card of Deb's

The flower here is a gift from a friend. There is also sewing machine stitching.
The look of this card can still be achieved without a sewing machine and with
a homemade paper flower instead.

Card ingredients: Spellbinders scalloped and classic hearts, Colorbok designer scrapbook paper,
Martha Stewart border punch, white card stock and ribbon. The sentiment is a JustRite rubber stamp punched with a Stampin' Up
Modern Label punch.

Flowers and candy and hearts, oh my!

I used Sizzix Bigz Pro Die Box w/Heart Closure. Added a
Spellbinders Scalloped heart, Martha Stewart border punched ban
and Sizzix rolled roses for this special treat box for friends
loved ones and more!
