Independence Day

Independence Day

I'll be chowing down on hamburgers, hot dogs and potato salad tomorrow and wanted to say...

Card Ingredients: Hero Arts CL498 sentiment, Hero Arts CL582 striped stars, QuicKutz large star, red and white twine, Decor Art Glamour Dust, star dp and red cs.

My Template
I made two photo copies of the template. One for the corner in blue and for the red card stock.
I placed the sections I wanted over the color choices and cut out (by hand or trimmer).

Here's another layout.

Give Thanks

It seems there's something extra special about this time of year. The kids are back to school, the weather (for some) has a fresh feel, the pumpkins are making their way for fall and weddings. September was my wed month. The Inspiration Challenge site at Splitcoaststampers is William Sonoma which is loaded with beautiful things. I used two Hero Arts background stamps that I thought captured the elegance of my inspirations.

Soft Colors of Spring!

 May Flowers

For the Ways to Use it Challenge at SCS the challenge hostess ask for cards with flowers. I almost don’t know how to make a card without flowers.

My heart easel congrats card can be used for a variety of occasions. I may use it as a graduation card, or perhaps I'll change the sentiment to Happy Birthday. I can never have enough Birthday cards.

Card Ingredients: Heart shapes die cut with Sizzix Bigz Die "Heart Bag",
The Rose is Sizzix/Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone, a dollar doily stamped on vellum and fussy cut,

Certainly Celery, Bermuda Bay, Regal Rose, Neutral of Choice Dessert Option: Words of Wisdom, Encouragement or Best Wishes

I started by stamping a Penny Black Letter Background on white card stock, embossing in white embossing powder, daubing with Tim Holtz' Distress Stains in tattered rose and shabby shutters and mounting rectangles. The Verve sentiment was stamped onto vellum in white ep and backed with white card stock.

I was playing around with my newest purchase of this Hero Arts "Pom Pom Flower" stamp and some Distress inks and actually loved the results! The pillow colors are very intriguing.  I'm usually happiest when the colors are inside the line, but hey "Be happy! it's all good! (sentiment by PrintwWorksCollection). The border is a QuicKutz Cookie Cutter "Flowers" die. Also a black brad added to center of flower.

Hello!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge this week...
CFC92: Stamp your own background on your CAS creation.

Taking advantage of the Learn A New Technique at SplitcoastStampers

TLC419 ~ Puzzle Piece Resist ~ (3/4/13)
I first stamped the Poppystamps “fancy background” onto white card stock. I then stamped the flower in versamark and kissed the background stamp to pick up the texture. Both were heat embossed with white powder and I die cut the center of the bg with the coordinating die for the flower. I kept the flower in the die for sponging in distress ink worn lipstick and peeled paint. The background was sponged with Distress ink stormy sky.

Hair Bow Birthday card/gift

My card today is for two challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.

This card came together quickly. I had previously punched these golden circles and just adhered them to a 3.25” sq piece of white card stock, mounted on another white piece and popped up.

The hair bow is made by Pipinka for more info go to her ETSY shop. I thought that this would be a perfect card for a little girl with gift attached.
