Give Thanks

It seems there's something extra special about this time of year. The kids are back to school, the weather (for some) has a fresh feel, the pumpkins are making their way for fall and weddings. September was my wed month. The Inspiration Challenge site at Splitcoaststampers is William Sonoma which is loaded with beautiful things. I used two Hero Arts background stamps that I thought captured the elegance of my inspirations.

Chrysanthemum

Mums are fall flowers!

So, for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers I wanted to break away from the fall leaves and pumpkins for this card. The colors in the pinterest inspiration photo allowed for the use of red, yellow and green. I used three different punches for the flower that I punched out in yellow and then used a water brush dipped in SU Raspberry Ripple to color the petals. I added a Sizzix tattered leaf, and the center is a 8" x 1/4” strip of green card stock, snipped and quilled. I used a Sizzix scallop die and layered the positive and negative cuts in the border.

Pink, Green and Brown for Verve

VSAVS12A

Verve Stamps is celebrating it's Fifth Anniversary and kicking off a week full of Verve challenges. Head over to the SCS lVerve forum and check out the five challenges.

For the first challenge we are to use the colors green, pink, brown plus a neutral.

The flower and sentiment are from Verve's "Beautiful You" set of 13. I used ek success punch for the butterfly with the flower stamped on moss card stock. The green Bazzill card stock belly ban is embossed with a Sizzix folder. The designer paper is K & Company.

SCS Inspiration Challenge 333

This week’s Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers comes from BHLDN ~ Inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep,” as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they’d been part of, the founders of BHLDN began dreaming up something new.

It was fun checking out this site and to find endless inspiration. This is high season for weddings and it's good to keep cards on hand. The heart card uses three Spellbinders heart dies,  Sizzix embossing folders and a 3-D flower Bigz die. The white vase went together quickly using a Spellbinders tag for vase, QuicKutz vine die and EK Success daisy punch. I can  change the sentiment to Happy Birthday if necessary.
