For Mom

My Mother's favorite color is purple and her birthday is coming up in February.
I wanted to use a different kind of sentiment because she will be 85 and has seen happy birthday a million times.
She has always been her elegant self and I hope she likes this card.
At Splitcoaststampers today one of the challenges is to choose a member with a name close to our own and make them Queen for the Day and case or complement by commenting on their creations. I chose this card by Angella to case.

Christmas Thank You

For the last Ways To Use It Challenge for 2013 over at Splitcoaststampers the hostess asked us to dig that beautiful wrapping paper out of the trash, and use some of it on our card or project! I did just that. It's amazing how terrific some -not so spectacular-
wrapping paper can look in smaller doses.
The first two were made with fragile wrapping paper.
The last two were made with the tags that came with the gifts.
Each card is going to the giver of each wrapped or tagged gift.

Used memory box bow die for the Spellbinders classic small rectangles

The raffia was a part of the jar of homemade eggnog with the kraft tag and branch
All were repurposed for the Thank You note.

The cute snowman was a tag on the matching bag.

Tea and Flowers

Tuesday Trigger: Now That's My Cup of Tea!

For today's challenge at Tuesday Trigger, I was inspired by the delicate colors on the pretty white porcelain cup with the soft blue saucer. I wanted to show the bolder side of the flowers. My blue pearls pollen represents the saucer. the chevrons are the opposite of the soft curves of the set.

Card Ingredients: Spellbinders Flower creations die, Elizabeth Curvy Leaves die, die-namics chevrons die, Verve sentiment, Yellow liquid pearls, memory box blue pearls.

MOJO 307 Gratitude

Mojo Monday 307

Another wonderful sketch by Julee! I just love this Toile paper by Recollections and wanted to feature it's scene as much as possible. I die cut the circle and framed it to go over the pattern. I used a light pink vellum to allow the pattern to show through. The banners are made using accompanying designer papers from the collection. The Verve flowers are stamped and heat embossed in blush powder and fussy cut.

Gift Note cards and Box

I'm always looking for something other than a bottle of wine to bring to someone's home when invited for dinner or weekend visits. What if they don't drink wine? Well, what about a little box of 3x3" note cards to add to gifts they may give. Of course it helps to know the hosts a little. We have friends whose home decor incorporates some beautiful asian watercolors.

card ingredients: Great Impressions Lily stamp for the note cards,
Susan's Garden Lily by Sizzix for Lily on box top, Verve Sentiment,
Spellbinders crown circle, copic markers, Pebbles Inc., Metallic Cream Chalks.
(I used a clementine crate mesh cover from the grocery store as a stencil
for the gray pattern on the bottom of note cards)

Box bottom:  9”x9” sq scored at 1½” 3”, 6”, 7½” turn and score same

Box Lid:  5⅝” x5⅝” sq scored at ⅝” and 1¼” on all four sides
Add some kind of glue to secure tabs and to keep the folds in place

POPPIES!

For the Inspiration Challenge at SCS the website featured is Wedding Decor

I chose two frames as inspiration for my card:Geometric Lattice and the Cala Lily Photo Frame

We traveled to Italy this time last year and the Poppies where blooming all along the highways and hill towns. Just a carpet of red in the field and farm land. I substituted the Lilies of course, but I love the placement on the frame.

I used the Taylored Expressions Quatgrefoil cutting plate to place in the square opening that was cut with Spellbinders classic square. The card measures 5”x5”.  Also, I used memory box's  “Prim Poppy" die and mb's wood mount sentiment stamp.

Happy Easter!

For today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers Stephanie takes us to the Decoylab website.

I was inspired by the Birdies Clock
I die cut the Cottage Cutz Fancy Filigree Wreath several times in white, kraft and brown card stock to give it dimension and popped it up on the Spellbinders circle.

Hair Bow Birthday card/gift

My card today is for two challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.

This card came together quickly. I had previously punched these golden circles and just adhered them to a 3.25” sq piece of white card stock, mounted on another white piece and popped up.

The hair bow is made by Pipinka for more info go to her ETSY shop. I thought that this would be a perfect card for a little girl with gift attached.
