Happy Fall -AAA Cards #21

Game 21 Fussy Cutting

I do enjoy a bit of fussy cutting sometimes. Just in case you are not familiar with the term 'fussy cutting' it is using scissors to cut out shapes and/or designs in stead of die cuts and punches.

My oak leaf stamp is very old but I love it. I used the rock and roll technique to add the browning edges to the leaves. I first stamped the leaf in the main colors (DI fired brick and crushed olive) and then rolled the stamp around the edges in DI brushed corduroy.

I can't wait to see YOUR fussy cutting in the AAA Cards Gallery!

Mums and Roses TCC #19

There is so much inspiration happening in this week's photo at THE CARD CONCEPT
But it's a color challenge which is taking me away from using fall leaves. My husband will often bring home flowers in fall colors and his favorite ones are red roses and bright yellow mums.
So of course that's what inspired me to make a mum and roses card.

I've used two different daisy punches from ek success for the mum. The center of the mum and the roses are Impression Obsession's small spiral floral dies and border die. The greenery is memory box "Wildflower Corner die and the sentiment is from Verve "On Occasion" set vs-0193.

Golden Anniversary

Julia's bright and dazzling card is inspiring in so many ways! I needed a fall anniversary card, and so, I've used Verve's "Feel the Sun" set quote stamp as my sunny inspiration along with a Sizzix Bigz "primitive hearts #2" die. The flourish is Impression Obsession "heart and flourish" die.

Blue Moon Wishes - AAA Cards #19

#19 ENJOY Moon Sketch

I never think about the moon in greeting cards so this was a welcomed challenge. I'm not good at sponging to create scenes so I used a memory box "Cottage Globe" stamp that I could create a background for the moon. I stamped the image with Memento 'Nautical Blue' ink and then I placed a dot on the stamp over the area where I wanted the moon behind the cottage. I then added a little shading with a C1 cool gray Copic marker. The craters are a byproduct of the paper dot displacing the blue ink. The circle behind the square is leftover from stamping the cottage in practice.

Birthday Dots to you

Had to give Julee's sketch a try this week because I just purchased Verve's "On Occasion" set of 11 and die. The frilly label and bold pink flower are a feminine contrast to the gray panels. This flower is so much fun to color (with copics) and fussy cut.
