Under Da Sea - AAA Cards Game 13

AAA Cards Game 13
When I think of shaker cards I think of fish. Okay, I don't think of shaker cards this is my first, but the fish sure do like it! (I hope) I started with the memory box small circle burst die which made me think of ship portholes. Still with me... I die cut a variety of colors with the memory box "school of fish" die and added the little beads (I don't know what they are). And, I'm using an Impression Obsession "shaker clear self adhesive card pouch".
It all seemed to work so here's a view of the ocean! My background is sponged in Distress Inks - shabby shutters and tumbled glass with a Camille Mini Pattern Stencil.

My fish are swimming amuck. When you shake them up they get a little dizzy.

Here's the Long and Skinny of it...

Now, you know that you have an ample supply of #10 envelopes (9.5" x 4"). Why not make a long/skinny card for them. It's super easy. I cut a sheet of card stock down to 8"x 7" and scored to make an 8"x 3.5" card. The flowers is a conjoined strip - QuicKutz 12" long cookie cutter Flowers border die (That I don't think is available anymore). I added some different colors of scrap designer papers to the centers and die-cut again. I then glued the colors to the extra white center circles and popped up. The black polka dot panel is 8"x 2.5". The card took 10 minutes to make and two days to photograph.

Please come and show us how you are inspired with your creation.

A Bird's Eye View

Good morning all! I'm so honored to be guest designer this week. I love playing in the challenges when ever I can and this week is PET! Well, I never had a canary as a pet but have always loved the intricate design of bird cages.  I'm using a dollar wooden one from Michaels that I painted with white gesso. The designer paper in the background is to represent wallpaper. It's a bird's eye view!

Hey There, I want OUT!

Birthday Present Game 11

Here we are at Game 11! My, how time flies when you're having fun and being challenged!
I decided to just go with the four window box squares Sizzix movers and shapers window panes 4 die as a gift box. It's a good way to use up pretty designer paper scraps. Add a pretty die-cut corner bow from memory box and voilĂ !
Bluemoon Scrapbooking also carries memory box and Sizzix products

Come on over to AAA Cards and show us your take on this weeks sketch challenge!

Bridal Bouquet

Chrissy's sketch is wonderful and gave me an opportunity to use up some pieces.
I, not long ago, die cut and stamped some vibrantly colored florals but had no project. The top three main flowers represent the three top circles of Chrissy's sketch and the two sets of leaves on the bottom of the sentiment represent the two bottom circles.
I just purchased the memory box "Bubble Arch" die and made a prototype (now being used for the card front). I gate folded the A2 size card and die cut both sides. I then just arranged and added the florals. The decorated panel is glued to another card base.

Wildflower Birthday

CAS(E) this Sketch #83

Gayatri has come up with a fantastic sketch this week! The Design Team has inspired me
and I'm doing a mixed bag of flora. The daisies are from Sizzix/Hero Arts stamp&die-cut set,
The tini flowers are from WPlus9 fresh florals and the stamped background leaves are from
another Sizzix/Hero Arts stamp&die-cut set. All these pieces were leftover from other
projects and begging to be used.

Flowers for You

I think that I have fallen in love with distress inks and markers watercoloring. Using the aqua brush and watercolor paper makes it so easy by stamping the images onto watercolor paper and moving and blending the colors with the aqua brush. I lightly outlined the square stamp with vintage photo and moved the color inward with the aqua brush. I did not stamp off first to soften because I like the vibrant colors.

I've used florals from three Verve sets; leaves and sentiment from VSA-10-018 "Great Friend" Set of 12, vase, greenery and small flower from -W-08-022 "Asian Flair" set of 13, and greenery, purple flowers and small flower from VS-09-015 "Because of You" set of 16. The butterfly was an extra from another project.

Watercolor Floral Arrangement - Game #10

As with every awesome challenge Victoria has presented us so far at AAA Cards - I have been outside of my comfort zone. I am loving the journey of discovering new (to me) techniques.
Today, we are to PLAY with watercolor techniques. I've taken a shortcut and use Distress markers and inkpads direct to stamps and onto watercolor paper. I've used an aqua brush because I don't own any official paint brushes.

I hope you will play today with watercolors and join the challenge!

Independence Day

Independence Day

I'll be chowing down on hamburgers, hot dogs and potato salad tomorrow and wanted to say...

Card Ingredients: Hero Arts CL498 sentiment, Hero Arts CL582 striped stars, QuicKutz large star, red and white twine, Decor Art Glamour Dust, star dp and red cs.

My Template
I made two photo copies of the template. One for the corner in blue and for the red card stock.
I placed the sections I wanted over the color choices and cut out (by hand or trimmer).

Here's another layout.
