For My Friend

Check out the new Mojo Monday
The last Monday of the month is now Tall & Skinny!

My card is 3.5" x 5.5"
The circle hangs off the right side a bit and is perfect size for an A2 Envelope.
I've used stamps from Verve's "Because of You" set of 16 VS-09-015.
The repurposed corrugated strip is from a box, the dsp is
K & Company and dp scraps, and the ribbon band is waxed jute.

Birthday in Cool Tones

I just had to jump on the band wagon for the CTS #61. It's a great and user friendly sketch for a quick card. I used a Balzer Designs template and sponged three Distress Inks in shabby shutters, dusty concord and tumbled glass for the the background panel.  I used up some previously stamped and die-cut flowers and leaves.

Color blocking is a fun way to use up designer paper scraps. I selected colors that coordinated with the multi-colored strip and just fitted on the panel around the sentiment. A added a gold gem balance. The sentiment is from Hampton Art.

Happy Valentine's Day

It's that time of year and for the MOJO MONDAY sketch 329 I've gone vintage. I stamped the Verve "Thankful Accents" wreathe onto vellum and heat embossed with Pearlescent Ivory powder. Next are the die cut with Sizzix primitive hearts, burlap and brown button. The Verve sentiment is stamped onto vellum as well.

Cool Color Palettes

For the INSPIRATION CHALLENGE at Splitcoaststampers
the hostess takes us to the DESIGN SEEDS website filled with beautiful color palettes!

For my first card I used a Balzer Designs template and distress inks in earth tones for the background. The dogwoods were stamped twice die cut and fussy cut the second layer to pop up.I don't know why I chose to make flowers in these tones but I love the result.

I'm making a number of "Thinking of You" for homebound members of my Church. Keeping it CAS makes it easier to mass produce. Here I used my aqua brush and Twinkling H2Os in Pink Azalea and Olive Vine and LuminArte black cherry. The Lilies image is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa.

Birthday Martini

Pals Paper Art Challenge - PPA188 - A Sketch Challenge I stumbled upon this site just this evening and wanted to make a birthday card for a good friend. I followed the sketch except for my oversized circle. I wanted the image and sentiment together. The Birthday Martini is by Impression Obsession, Inc., and the sentiment is by Art Impressions. They seem to be made for each other. The tag just personalizes it more. The letters are stamped with JustRite monogram kit.

Hello Again!

For the Sketch Challenge 471 at SPLITCOASTSTAMPERS I needed a general "thinking of you" card for a friend. The elements used are parts that I've been saving for a long time. The designer paper is 10 years old and the flower was stamped and die cut last January when I purchased the Sizzix/Hero Arts Stamp & Die-cut set. I love putting all these things to use and now I'm ready to create more cards this way!

memory box "journey collage" wood mount stamp was used in the background.
It was stamped in versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder
and sponged with Distress Ink "antique linen".

Untie The Ribbon

For this week's Mojo Monday I look to use more subtle colors. I think this can work as a masculine birthday card. The sketch is fun to work with. I used stamps from Verve's "Asian Flair" set. I love the sentiment and have used it on numerous cards. The bow is the memory box corner bow. The papers are echo park "this & that" charming 6x6 paper pad

Valentine Twist

For the Mojo Monday 327 Sketch
I wanted a new twist on a Valentine's card for my husband. Clovers have hearts!
I used the Verve - "Lucky You" set of stamps and the coordinating "cut above dies"
The two sided designer paper is by s.e.i. "Silver Valley Mountain Trail".

For Mom

My Mother's favorite color is purple and her birthday is coming up in February.
I wanted to use a different kind of sentiment because she will be 85 and has seen happy birthday a million times.
She has always been her elegant self and I hope she likes this card.
At Splitcoaststampers today one of the challenges is to choose a member with a name close to our own and make them Queen for the Day and case or complement by commenting on their creations. I chose this card by Angella to case.
