Mostly Minty Birthday

Minty Fresh Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

As Cath Edvalson (Host for Moxie Fab World) says;
"Not too yellow, not too blue, mint green is that soothing shade in between."

I totally agree! How refreshing!
I managed to find a couple of sheets of minty designer paper from Colorbok "Pastel Breeze" stack and paired it with watercolor paper. The label and floral accent are from Sizzix/Hero Arts stamp & die-cut set 65775.
I stamped the floral accent in versamark and onto minty green vellum and heat embossed in white.
The stamped the label in versamark onto the watercolor paper and heat embossed in white also. I found this cute green pearl cluster brads in my local stamp store. The sentiment is Hero Arts.
The card measures 3.5" x 5.5" which is the perfect size for Sizzix Biz Scalloped envelop die #656095.

Queen Kathleen CASE

Kathleen is a kindhearted human being and loved by more than a few at SCS. She created a good size gallery in a short period of time with unique and very interesting themes.  She’s very artistic, also!

In honor of the Queen For The Day at SCS

I've chosen to CASE this CARD of hers.
I stamped the flower image onto the Financial Times news paper, colored flowers with copics, glued it to a piece of card stock, stitched around border, mounted onto SB Romantic Rectangle then red card stock and then base.

and for the second CARD
The background is stamped with Hero Arts' Large flower pattern in distress inks shabby shutters and cut down to 4"x4". The card base is 4.75" square using MS punch around corner and border punches.

Celebrating 400th Sketch Challenge

In celebrating 400 Sketch Challenges at SCS we were to go back to previous sketches. There are 399 and all just grand. I took a shine to this Sketch SC235. I was intrigued by all the circles and thought that the Stampin Up' "Just Believe" cling set with the floral circle stamp was the perfect choice. This is also one the new in colors "summer starfruit". The sentiment is Verve and Spellbinders' dies.

Hero Arts Happy Birthday

For the card following the first sketch, I've used the Sizzix/Hero Arts "Floral" Stamp & die-cut set. The sentiment is Hero Arts wood mount "Happy Birthday" stamped in versamark and heat embossed in white embossing powder. The background and sentiment strip are from Hero Arts "Pool Designer Papers". I sponged the flower with Distress inks spiced marmalade, fired brick and peeled paint.

Simple Pleasures

 CFC67
One of the great pleasures of summer is seeing the moanarch butterfly.  My husband and I took the Interpretive Trail in Ripton, Vermont and stop to read the works of Robert Frost. The flight of the monarch made for a very pleasant morning.

Butterflies are one of Summer’s treats and so for the CAS185 Summer Treats Challenge over at splitcoaststamper and CAS-ual Fridays' CFC67 Banners and Flags - simple pleasures will serve nicely for both.

Sweet Baby Girl!

For the First Grandchild...
Verve Stamps is having it's 5th Anniversary with challenges for five days over at Splitcoaststampers. I wanted to take the opportunity to make a little something for a very nice stamper at SCS as a new Grandma.
The card is a sketch challenge and the letter "M" is for the "anything but a card" challenge.
I like to make the 4"x4" letter for my daughter's friends at college but why not for a new baby girl!

Yellow Obsession

Summer is winding down and I'm not ready for Fall yet. The color yellow cheers me up and I find making a prototype on scraps sometimes turn out better than one planned. I used the same Magenta stamp for both cards. After purchasing this stamp I thought that it was the ugliest ever. I've found ways to love it's possibilities.

The first is a partial of the image and turned upside down (not on purpose). The second is the complete stamped image. Both are heat embossed in white on different yellow card stock. The vellum flowers are from a Sizzix/Hero Arts Stamp & die-cut set. (I don't know the specific name).
