SCS - CAS167 at the Zoo

Clean and Simple Challenge #167

My daughter is ready to be home from College. She's excited about home cooking, clean quarters and her little dog.
This Doodle Pantry digital image of the Panda is to remind her that there are only a few weeks to ago, and she can enjoy the amenities of home.

The Tiger is a drawing my daughter did when she was  in high school. She titled it "White". I like to make up cards to send to her when she's down or if I have not heard from her in a while. The sentiment is from the Doodle Pantry Panda digi set.

SCS Inspiration Challenge 333

This week’s Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers comes from BHLDN ~ Inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep,” as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they’d been part of, the founders of BHLDN began dreaming up something new.

It was fun checking out this site and to find endless inspiration. This is high season for weddings and it's good to keep cards on hand. The heart card uses three Spellbinders heart dies,  Sizzix embossing folders and a 3-D flower Bigz die. The white vase went together quickly using a Spellbinders tag for vase, QuicKutz vine die and EK Success daisy punch. I can  change the sentiment to Happy Birthday if necessary.

CFC49

Cas-ual Fridays Challenge #49 – It’s A Sketch!

There’s nothing more terrifying for me than a sketch challenge. I don’t know why but I don’t seem to get it. That does not stop me from trying and today’s sketch is SWEET!

I've sponged the background squares with Distress Ink spiced marmalade added die cuts by cuttlebug and a Verve sentiment.

From Bluejay to Cardinal...

Only 100 more Christmas cards needed for 2012...

I've already made 100 cards for Christmas 2012 and my goal is 200.
I used an outline from the Bluejay digital set at  Doodle Pantry  and printed onto ivory card stock, colored with copics and added frosted stickles for the fun of it. Loving the digis!

Twice the Blessing

CFC2

My card is for Challenge #2 for the Crafty Friends Challenge!  This challenge is hosted by Nina and it is to use two die cuts on your project.  You can find all the details for posting your project on the Crafty Friends Blog.  I used 4 dies from Spellbinders and included are; Floral Accent Shapeabilities, Lacy Square, Classic Circle and a Ribbon Tag. The little chicks are from the Verve "Egg-stra Special" set and the sentiment is computer generated. This was made for a friend attending a baby shower for twins. The sex is unknown so I thought that the cute little chicks would work well.

Bluejay

OSCC178 - Three Circles,  DPDC22 andCAS166 at SCS

I used Doodle Pantry's Bluejay Digital set which includes the designer paper, pre-colored bluejay and sentiment. I think this is a perfect image for Christmas cards as well!
This is also for the Clean and Simple sketch challenge inspired by Mary at Splitcoaststampers.

Dare to be YOU

Another entry for the  CAS-ual Fridays  Opposites Attract color challenge.

I don't often make flat or one layer cards but thought that this would be a good opportunity to practice. The stamped image is Inkadinado "Birds Galore" and the sentiment is Verve.

Wedded Bliss...

Sometimes a card is just too chunky for an envelope.
Using the mini pizza box tutorial from SCS with a few changes I made a box to house the 4.5" square wedding card for a friend's son's upcoming wedding.

Starting with a 5 and 5/8" w by 10 and 5/8" h piece of white textured card stock and scoring at 1/2" on all sides instead of 1" made for a near perfect fit.
I used Spellbinders Petite Ovales Large for the viewing window.

I chose the lighter green and pink/magenta combo. The flower is die cut using Spellbinders' Flower Creations and Shapeabilities Symbology One for the green flourish. The sentiment is from Verve's "Great Friend" clear stamp set.

Baby Girl

CAS165  for Monday, April 9, 2012 -  SCS

This week's CAS challenge is - Ways to Use itScallops!

I really like scallops!
A friend of mine is attending a Christening for a little girl and I decided to make a card for her. The multiple scalloped layers remind me of the way a Christening gown looks.

I used four graduating sizes of Spellbinders’ classic scalloped squares and provocraft/cuttlebug scallop die for center with a pink pearl cluster brad and white ribbon.

Baby Boy

This week's CAS165 challenge is -Ways to Use it Scallops!

You never know when you might need a Christening card.  I did not think that a sentiment was necessary. It can also be used as a welcome baby boy card. The center scallop looks like a bassinet pillow and the scalloped bottom - bubble bath!
